      Programme & Visits

      The key themes that will be explored during the Creative Regions Summer School 3rd- 8th of July 2011 will be:

      • Understanding creative people, creative work and creative skills 
      • Mapping and analysing the creative economy 
      • Innovation and entrepreneurship in the creative industries 
      • Creative clusters and networks
      • Urban regeneration and the creative economy
      • Creative cities and cultural planning
      • Creative class and regional economic development
      • Policy perspectives: international, national, regional and local
      • Higher Education, creative graduates and the creative economy

      The Creative Regions Summer School will be based on a mix of lectures, presentations, workshops and site visits.

      The programme will include three research visits:
      -  Visit to the Medway Historic Dockyard and the School of Arts in Medway
      -  Visit to the new Turner Contemporary in Margate
      -  Visit to Folkestone Creative Foundation and Folkestone Triennal

      Monday 4th July
